B Corp Commitment
At TVNET, we have long believed business should be about more than profit alone.
Our commitment is to build a company that delivers excellent technical services while also having a positive impact on people, communities and the environment.
Over the years, we have been an early adopter of electric vehicles to cut pollution, have successfully petitioned our suppliers to reduce their plastic packaging, and pledged to sponsor an acre of forested land for conservation for each new client we take on.
In 2025, we decided to formalise all these initiatives and other good practices we follow by applying to become a B Corporation. This is a demanding process and when we successfully completed it, we believe we were the first specialist data cabling company in the UK to achieve B Corp status.
What is a B Corp?
Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.
B Corp certification recognises companies that balance:
- Profit
- People
- Planet
It means considering the broader impact of every business decision — not just financial outcomes.
Environmental Responsibility
We look for practical ways to reduce waste and improve efficiency across our work.
Examples include:
Thoughtful equipment selection and lifecycle planning, for example having a climate positive website
Responsible recycling of old cabling and other products where possible
No waste to landfill
Minimising unnecessary travel and utilising electric vehicles where possible
Making sustainability based pledges and sponsorship
Using our influence to encourage our supply chain to make sustainable choices
Impact
The above initiatives and being B Corp are not empty gestures.
The hosting for a typical website generates the amount of carbon equivalent to a road trip from London to Tel Aviv. Our climate positive website hosting decision, neutralises this impact for our own website, and in fact helps fund carbon removal.
Our successful influence in reducing plastic packaging from our supply chain means that in a typical year we prevent 30kg of single use plastic from going to landfill – that is the equivalent of 6,000 supermarket carrier bags.
The electric vehicles in our fleet contribute directly to many fewer tonnes of CO2 being released on the roads every single year.
